Above Texture: Stinging
The use of this as an interior and exterior texture adds to the sci-fi aesthetic with allusions to violence in nature. This adds to the aggression of the building, and as it is quite small, this aggression is necessary.
Below Texture: Woven
This texture is intended to envelop the entire wall-space of the downstairs interior. It adds a plush dimension to the walls.
Chosen Design to refine: Second design
The second design to me shows a lot of potential for breaking architectural rules in its design. The way that the floating Spheres interact with the landscape, which I imagine to be a desert environment, alludes to something futuristic and almost sci-fi related. The dessert has a very martian landscape, and I want to reflect that oddness with a bold and somewhat intimidating design.
36 Textures
I will re-upload these when my scanner gets fixed, so this is the highest quality of image I could manage to edit for now.
The woven texture in the image above is slightly inspired by the texture on this wall in martin place. I enjoy the contrast between the rough, hard tactile texture, and its visual appearance. It's like a textural optical illusion.
